Bulgarian Slippers - Finished

Good evening to all!

Finished my Bulgarian Slippers today, very happy with result, and they fit like a glove (glove for feet :])
Also I did few improvements in them;

  • knitted 8 rows in garter stitch, instead of suggested 4-6 rows
  • closed the stitches with 3-needle-bind-off instead of cast of and sew method
3-needle-bind-off:
Count stitches to find the middle. Transfer half of stitches to second needle. Fold at middle, RS together  with yarn on the right. Using a third needle (I was using double pointed needles in this method), K the first stitch on both needles together. Then K the second stitch on both needles together. Slip the first of these knit stitches over the second, and let it drop off the needle. Knit the next stitch on both needles, and slip previous stitch over this one. Continue to the end.

So this how right side looks:
And this is wrong side:

My feet are truly happy!

Thanks Sveta very much for such an amazing opportunity  Will definitely knit more of them for each member of the family!

Bulgarian Slippers - Part 1

Good day all!
Always wanted to knit proper pair of house slippers for myself, and when Sveta in her blog announced Knit Together Bulgarian Slippers, I, of course, couldn't resist!
So here we go Part Nr.1!

I picked Sirdar Country Style yarn in Grey and 2,5 mm double pointed needles.
My starting stitches number is 47 (as Sveta says in her first part - 1 side stitch - 22 stitches - 1 middle stitch - 22 stitches - 1 side stitch)

So I picked up 47 stitches and knitted 6 rows in British Gum(???), not sure how to call right, its Aнглийская резинка in Russian.
Cant wait for next part!
P.S. Don't think that 47 stitches on 2,5 mm needles be enough for my big feet! So going to re-do 1st part. Going to pick up 51 stitch, and then see what happens. Will show it in next part!
UPDATE: Finally did it! After hundred tryings I finally found number of stitches I need for my feet - 55! So did 6 rows in British Gum and started Part 2. Using another needles - bamboo circulars in size 2.75 mm. Also added another color - my slippers be stripey, yay!

See you very soon,

Raindrops Socks KAL Part Six Final

Finished my Raindrops socks! Happy Happy Joy Joy! Love the finished result! Definitely be knitting few more pairs :)

Going to add more pictures after the blocking. I always block socks, they \
look much nicer after that.

P.S. If you wonder how I block socks, here is the recipe:
  • I soak them in slightly warm water with few drops of fabric softener for say 15-20 min
  • Carefully squeeze excess water and wrap them with old towel (or new if you like) to get rid of rest of the water
  • Put washed socks on Sock Stretchers (my dear father kindly made me a pair)
  • Leave them to dry
  • Wear them proudly
